Wildlife Parks of Tanzania

  • Trip Type: Journeys
  • 12 Days | Arusha to Dar Es Salaam
  • Group Size: Max 6

Trip Details

This African adventure starts among Tanzania’s most famous wildlife reserves before taking you to the country's remote, under-explored national parks of the southern circuit. Embark on wildlife drives in Lake Manyara National Park (keeping your eyes open for elusive tree-climbing lions), meet one of the researchers at the Serengeti Wildlife Research Centre, and scan your surroundings in the protected Selous Game Reserve for the zeals of zebras that call these grasslands home. Experience some of the best wildlife viewing in the world amid the spectacular landscapes of Tanzania.

Trip Highlights

    • Hear from a scientist at the Serengeti Wildlife Research Centre, then set out on safari into the surrounding plains.
    • Meet local Maasai during a village visit, and opt to build a clean-burning stove for the G Adventures-supported Clean Cookstoves Project.
    • Discuss the importance of conserving African wildlife with a ranger from Ruaha National Park.

Days 3 & 4 — Serengeti National Park

Travel through the Rift Valley and visit a Maasai village to learn about its people and the G Adventures-supported Clean Cookstoves project. Then visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum and Visitors Center before heading to our safari camp. Embark on more game drives and visit the Serengeti Wildlife Research Centre for a lecture by a researcher. Opt to take a sunrise balloon safari. (2B, 2L, 2D)
