Please call for pricing. Note that for post-trip voyages, this extension travels in the reverse of the sequence shown below.

DAY 1 - Fairbanks, Alaska

Arrive in Fairbanks, transfer to your hotel and settle into your river-view room. This evening, meet your leader and traveling companions at a welcome dinner.
Pike's Waterfront Lodge (D)

DAY 2 - Fairbanks/Denali National Park

In the morning, visit the University of Alaska Museum of the North featuring collections that represent over 11,000 years of natural and cultural heritage. Then depart on a wilderness drive to the North Face Lodge. Travel on the lodge's private bus on Denali's otherwise highly restricted Park Road in order to access prime wildlife viewing areas. The seven-hour, 90-mile drive is full of opportunities to spot Denali's famed wildlife: grizzlies, caribou, moose, Dall's sheep, wolves, eagles, Arctic terns, and more. Enjoy a hearty, picnic-style dinner near the Toklat River at the midpoint of the drive.

DAY 3, 4, and 5 - Denali National Park

Immerse yourself in Denali's magnificent wilderness and learn about its flora and fauna during the daily activities of your choice. Hiking with trained naturalist guides, canoeing, fishing, and biking are available. An opportunity for an optional flight-seeing excursion offers breathtaking aerial views of Mt. McKinley, and is available at an additional cost. Days wind down by the fireplace with nightly presentations that focus on various aspects of Denali's natural and cultural history. Sleep in well-appointed, comfortable rooms and enjoy delicious meals featuring fresh baked goods and locally grown produce throughout your stay. (B,L,D daily)

DAY 6 - Denali National Park/Fairbanks

This morning, depart the North Face Lodge and enjoy the scenic drive back out to the park entrance. Then experience the grandeur of Alaska aboard the Alaska Railroad, enjoying first-class GoldStar service en route to Anchorage. Lavishly appointed cars feature custom-designed interiors highlighted with original Alaskan art and a private outdoor viewing deck. Dinner will be served on board the train, and we spend the night in Anchorage.
