Day 1 — U.S./Athens, Greece
Fly overnight from the U.S. to Athens, Greece
Day 2 — Athens
We arrive in Athens, and make our way to the Electra Palace Hotel, located in the shadow of the Acropolis. We will have a buffet lunch and in the afternoon, we will visit the new Acropolis Museum, which displays some of the finest sculptures and other art of Ancient Greece, followed by a brief orientation tour of the city, where you will see the former Royal Palace (now the Parliament), along with a number of Athens's finest neoclassical buildings. There will also be a walk through the Temple of Olympian Zeus, built between the 6th century BC and 2nd century AD. This evening, gather for a brief introduction to Greek history and mythology over cocktails. Dinner is on your own, allowing you to discover one of Athens's restaurants.

Day 3 — Athens
Our day is devoted to the Acropolis, and we will avoid the crowds by getting there early. After visiting the site, we walk down the hill to the Agora, the heart of ancient Athens and the focus of political, commercial, administrative and social activity of the city. Lunch in the Plaka and then take a guided stroll through streets lined with antique shops. Dinner tonight will be at a top Athens restaurant, with Greek specialties.

Day 4 — Athens/Marina Zea/Embark
This morning we continue our visit to Athens at the acclaimed National Archaeological Museum. After a hands-on Greek meze lunch we make our way to the port of Marina Zea and embark the Sea Cloud. Begin your Sailing the Greek Isles expedition on Day 2 of the itinerary.
