The Palace on Wheels train was built in 2008 in the royal style of the Maharajas. It captures the image of a bygone era while incorporating contemporary amenities and friendly, personalized service that make it the perfect way to travel through Rajasthan. It has 14 fully air-conditioned deluxe saloons, each with three twin-bedded cabins, toilets, showers, a mini pantry, and lounge. There are two restaurant cars that serve Continental, Indian, Rajasthani, and Chinese cuisine, and have well stocked bars for a great place to wind down at the end of the day. A well-equipped spa car offers a range of skin, hair, and body products as well as massages. National Geographic has reserved 14 cabins on each departure.
