Itinerary - 8 Days
Day 1 — Lima
Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer included.
Days 2 & 3 — Sacred Valley
Board an early flight to Cusco, then continue to the Sacred Valley to spend two days exploring with a local guide. Tour the G Adventures-supported Parque de la Papa, or Potato Park, a network of rural agricultural communities working to preserve more than 700 species of potatoes. Learn about potato cultivation and traditional weaving, and the importance of each to Andean culture. Next, explore the Pisac ruins and visit the G Adventures-supported Sacred Valley Community Restaurant in the village of Huchuy Qosqo. Discover the pre-Inca salt pans of Las Salineras. Enjoy a traditional pachamanca-style meal. (2B, 1L, 1D)
Day 4 — Aguas Calientes
Catch an early
transfer to Ollantaytambo station and board the
scenic train to Aguas Calientes. Opt to visit the town’s hot springs, butterfly house, or botanical garden. (1B)
Day 5 — Machu Picchu/ Cusco
guided tour of the Machu Picchu ruins. Then explore the site on your own or hike
to the Inca Bridge. Later, return to Cusco by train.
Day 6 — Cusco
Explore historic Cusco, with options to visit museums or go white-water rafting or paragliding. This evening, glimpse the night sky through the telescopes of the Cusco planetarium. (1B)
Days 7 & 8 — Lima
Fly back to Lima for our final
evening. Depart at any time the next day. (2B)

Travelers should be physically fit and prepared for multiple hours of activity (e.g. hiking, kayaking, biking) each day. Certain days may have more challenging physical activity, such as ascents/descents on steep mountainous terrain.
