Itinerary - 12 Days
Days 1 & 2 — U.S./Johannesburg, South Africa
Depart on an overnight flight to Johannesburg, and meet our local staff upon arrival. Transfer to the intimate Safari Club on the outskirts of the city and enjoy an evening to relax.
Days 3, 4, & 5 — Okavango Delta, Botswana
This morning, board a commercial flight to Maun, Botswana, and connect with a scheduled charter flight to the Okavango Delta. Settle into your luxury tent at Duba Plains Camp, located on a remote island in the delta, and spend the next three days on safari in Duba’s private concession area. Duba is the backdrop for National Geographic Explorers-in-Residence Dereck and Beverly Joubert’s award-winning film Relentless Enemies, which documents the ongoing conflict between three lion prides and the 1,000-strong buffalo population. On daytime and nighttime game drives, observe the interactions of lions and buffalo, watch families of elephants frolicking at the water’s edge, spot hippos swimming in the deep, and see tsessebe and blue wildebeest grazing on the plains.

Featured in Dereck and Beverly Joubert’s National Geographic films Ultimate Enemies, Hunting With the Moon, and The African Diaries, the Selinda Reserve is also home to the hippo-killing lions. Track cheetahs and endangered wild dogs, and spot a wide variety of birds from an elevated hide overlooking the floodplains. Wattled cranes, a highly coveted sighting, are often spotted here.
