Get off the usual safari track for a whirlwind week of wildlife-viewing in the southern
circuit of Tanzania. The reserves and national parks of this region are remote
and much less frequented by travelers, offering exceptional exploration. Watch
for its herds of elephants, towers of giraffes, and zeals of zebras on a safari
experience that will feel like your group’s alone. Internal flights between parks
are included to ensure you experience the most in the time available.

Itinerary - 6 Days
Day 1 — Arusha
Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer
Day 2 — Arusha/Ruaha National Park
This morning catch a flight to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s largest
national park, which harbors an abundance of wildlife and vast,
diverse landscapes. Transfer to our safari lodge and
embark on a safari drive to spot local wildlife. (1B, 1L, 1D)
Day 3 — Ruaha National Park
Spend a full day viewing wildlife with our expert
safari guide inside this vast and remote park, keeping
an eye out for lions, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and impalas.
This evening, relax at the lodge, sitting on the deck
with a cool drink, listening to the night sounds, and gazing
at the stars. (1B, 1L, 1D)
Day 4 — Ruaha National Park/Selous
Enjoy one last morning safari drive in Ruaha before catching our flight
to Selous Game Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage
site. After settling into our camp, board a boat on the
river for an evening safari. The rivers of Selous are the
lifeblood of the park, attracting elephants, hippos, and
crocodiles, among others. (1B, 1L, 1D)
Day 5 — Selous Game Reserve
Rise early and head out for a full day wildlife
safari drive in this incredible reserve, accompanied by our local
guide. The park is known for its numerous lion prides,
over 50 percent of the remaining endangered African wild
dog population, and over 400 bird species. There also
is an abundance of zebra, impala, giraffe, sable, kudu,
baboon, wildebeest, colobus, and vervet monkeys. After
a busy day, relax this evening, enjoying sunset by the
river and dinner in the boma. (1B, 1L, 1D)
Day 6 — Selous/Dar es Salaam
Enjoy a morning safari walk before catching
a flight to Dar Es Salaam. After arriving in Dar Es Salaam, depart at any time. (1B, 1L)

Please note that on domestic flights to and from our safari accommodations, each passenger's checked and carry-on luggage may not weigh more than a combined total of 33 lbs (15 kgs) and must be packed in small soft-sided bags. This regulation is strictly enforced by the airlines.
