Itinerary - 15 Days
Day 1 — Cabablanca
Arrive at any time.

Day 2 — Meknès/Volubilis/Fez
Enjoy a guided tour of the imperial city of Meknès, and marvel at the ancient Roman ruins at Volubilis before continuing on to Fez. (1B)
Day 3 — Fez
Step back in time on a walking tour of the Fez medina, exploring its winding lanes with a knowledgeable guide. Sit down to a traditional tagine lunch at a G Adventures-supported organization that provides vocational training for rural Moroccan women. Later, visit a local café for a class on Islamic calligraphy. (1B, 1L)
Days 4 & 5 — Marrakech
Travel to Marrakech to experience the color and chaos of its famed medina, and enjoy lunch at a market food stall. The next day, set out for a guided tour of this incredible city, including the Bahia Palace and Saadian Tombs. Visit a historic riad for a cooking class led by a celebrated Moroccan chef. Days 6 & 7 — Aït Ben Haddou/Erg Chigaga
Explore the ancient adobe village of Aït Ben Haddou in the Atlas Mountains. The following day, journey through the Drâa Valley to Zagora and set off into the desert on 4x4s. Stop at Tamegroute to visit the library of ancient Islamic texts. Continue to our desert camp, located amid the dunes of Erg Chigaga. Opt to take a camel ride, or climb the dunes for views of the vast Sahara. Enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars. (2B, 1L, 2D)
Day 8 — Zagora
Return to the desert outpost of Zagora, where we’ll attend a talk on the history of the Drâa region and visit nearby historical sites.
Days 9 & 10 — Taroudant
Head to the carpet towns of Tazenakht and Taliouine, where saffron is harvested. In Taroudant, visit the famed leather tanneries and local markets. (2B)
Day 11 — Tafraout
Enter the Anti-Atlas region to view intriguing natural rock formations and explore the mountain town of Tafraout. Visit Aït Mansour Gorge, the Painted Rocks, and the Chapeau de Napoleon. Walk through a palm oasis, have lunch in a village home, and visit a women’s handicraft cooperative. (2B, 1L)
Days 12 & 13 — Essaouira
Travel to the port town of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast, and see the local fishing fleet unload their catch. Pick a fish from their haul, and take it to a local restaurant where the cooks will prepare it for our lunch. Opt to visit a hammam—a traditional spa and steam bath. Or choose to stroll the beach, or go surfing or sailing. (2B, 1L)
Days 14 & 15 — Marrakech
Return to Marrakech to visit the Menara and Majorelle Gardens. Enjoy an optional farewell dinner with local folkloric entertainment. The next day, depart at any time. (2B)
