William Allard
A photographer for National Geographic for 43 years, William Albert Allard has published five books, including The Photographic Essay and Vanishing Breed, a classic on cowboys and the American West. His book, Portraits of America, is a retrospective of his work on American subjects, ranging from the Amish to minor league baseball and the blues.
Nevada Wier
Award-winning photographer Nevada Wier specializes in the remote corners of the globe and the cultures that inhabit them. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including National Geographic magazine, National Geographic Adventure, Outdoor Photographer, Outside, and Smithsonian. She is a Fellow of The Explorer's Club and a member of the Women's Geographic Society.
Amy Toensing
National Geographic photographer Amy Toensing grew up in New England and has covered stories from her own backyard like Monhegan Island, Maine and the Jersey Shore to people and places on the other side of the globe, including the remote jungles of Papua New Guinea and the Australian outback. Her stories are often intimate essays reflecting the lives of ordinary people. She has also covered current issues such as welfare reform, Muslim women living in western culture, and Hurricane Katrina. She is currently working on her eleventh story for National Geographic magazine. Her work has also appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, Time Magazine, and National Geographic Traveler.
