Days 1 & 2 — U.S./Cape Town, South Africa

Depart the U.S. on an overnight flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and spend a relaxing afternoon or explore the city on your own.

Day 3 — Cape Town

After breakfast, enjoy a city tour, including a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain which offers wonderful panoramic views of the city and harbor. This afternoon, travel by ferry to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated and learn about his historic "walk to freedom."

Day 4 — Cape Peninsula

Begin the day with a drive through the beach towns of Clifton and Camps Bay along the Atlantic Coast road and into the fishing villages of Hout Bay. Continue over Chapman's Peak, offering beautiful coastal views to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. After lunch, visit the naval village of Simonstown and view a colony of jackass penguins. Explore the historic Cape Dutch home at Groot Constantia and enjoy the renowned winery.

Day 5 — Cape Town/Johannesburg

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Johannesburg to meet the group for the flight to Mala Mala.
