About the Trains
El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo and
El Transcantábrico Clásico are narrow-gauge trains with original British Pullman coaches that have been elegantly refurbished. The trains travel during daylight hours, allowing passengers to take in the scenery along our route, enjoy fine restaurants in the towns we visit, and then sleep in quiet and comfort while the train is parked at night. Four lounge cars cater to a variety of interests, from dancing and live music to reading or taking in the views. A buffet-style breakfast is served daily.
El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo
The deluxe El Transcantábrico Gran Lujo has just been remodeled, combining two cabins from El Transcantábrico Clásico into a single, spacious suite. These roomy cabins feature a queen bed (or two twin beds), a living room, large windows, and a private bathroom with a shower, hydro sauna, and steam bath. National Geographic has reserved all 14 suites on all departures.
