Awe-inspiring scenery and fascinating wildlife are simply everywhere in Western Canada. This 12-day adventure hits crisp Jasper and serene Lake Louise, a scenic ferry crossing to Vancouver Island, a river safari through Grizzly Bear Valley, and a drive along the jaw-dropping Icefields Parkway. Itinerary - 12 Days
Day 1 — Vancouver
Arrive at any time.
Days 2 & 3 — Victoria
Enjoy a stop at beautiful Stanley Park and Gastown—Vancouver’s oldest neighborhood—before boarding a scenic ferry to Victoria, where we’ll take an orientation walk. The next day is free for optional activities, including a Zodiac whale-watching cruise, high tea at a historic hotel, or a visit to a museum or Butchart Gardens. (2B)
Days 4 & 5 — Whistler
Catch the ferry back to the mainland and drive the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway to the village of Whistler, host of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Here we visit the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center on a G Adventures for Good experience. Enjoy a traditional tea ceremony with bannock and explore the grounds and museum with an indigenous guide. Day 6 — Blue River
Travel into the Cariboo Mountains, with stops at Marble Canyon and the emerald-colored Lower Joffre Lake before arriving at the stunning Blue River community (1B, 1D)
Days 7 & 8 — Jasper National Park
an amazing river safari through Grizzly Bear
Valley and the world’s only inland temperate rain
forest. Seek out wildlife, including grizzly bears,
moose, and eagles. Then head to Jasper National
Park and view the highest peak in the Canadian
Rockies, Mount Robson. During free time the
next day, hike at Maligne Canyon, or opt to take
a cruise or go white-water rafting. Later, soak in
the hot springs at Miette. (2B)
Day 9 — Icefield Parkway/Lake Louise
Travel the Icefields Parkway—considered one
of the most scenic drives in the world—to the
astoundingly blue Peyto Lake. Embark on a walk with a local guide atop the
Lower Athabasca Glacier. Continue to picturesque
Lake Louise. (1B)
Day 10 — Banff
Spend the morning at Lake
Louise with an option to hike to Lake Agnes Tea
House. Continue to Banff and
step back in time with an expert from the Whyte
Museum, exploring this historic town. (1B)
Day 11 — Calgary
Drive to Calgary for a short
tour. Opt to visit museums, cowboy bars, or
Canada Olympic Park. (1B)
