Cairo native Mona El Nahas has introduced many Americans to the wonders of Egypt since she became a licensed guide in 1982. She earned a masters in teaching English as a foreign language, and she enjoys her job for the opportunity it gives her to meet many different types of people and show them the marvels of her country. She particularly loves the Temple of Karnak because of its awe-inspiring size, duration of construction, and architecture. Of Karnak’s grand Hypostyle Hall, she says, “It is something you will never see in this life anywhere else in the world.”
