About Great Plains Conservation
Great Plains Conservation is an African-based company that works with local communities, governments, and commercial enterprises to enhance, secure, and protect iconic wildlife habitats in Africa and Asia. Great Plains' focus is on creating low-density, light environmental-footprint experiences that provide economic value for communities, habitat improvement, and restoration of wildlife populations. Great Plains was launched in 2006 by a team of conservation leaders, including filmmakers, conservationists, and National Geographic Explorers-in-Residence Dereck and Beverly Joubert. Great Plains currently operates six safari camps in three countries. The National Geographic Society is a partner of Great Plains Conservation, but is not involved in the operations of the lodges.
