Family

The world is brimming with astonishing sights and places. Experiencing them with your family is one of the greatest rewards of all. We’ve designed our family adventures to inspire travelers of all ages by organizing fun, hands-on, learning activities for kids and adults alike. Spark a passion for exploration in your children and create lasting memories for the whole family!

Photography

For more than a century, people have thumbed through the pages of our magazines and felt inspired by some of the best photography in the world. Now we’d like to invite you to travel to incredible places with some of the best photographers in the world. Our Photography Expeditions are designed for photographers of all levels. You’ll learn tips and techniques while exploring fascinating places with one of our renowned photographers. Our Photography Workshops, also led by a top National Geographic photographer, cater to those who seek more intensive instruction, and build photo editing, instruction, and critique sessions as well as photo assignments into each day’s schedule.

Private Jet

On our expeditions by private jet, you'll travel to far-flung places in comfort and style. Our specially configured Boeing 757 with VIP seating affords us unmatched flexibility and is ideally suited for these extraordinary expeditions.

Rail Journeys

Traveling by train evokes a sense of nostalgia and adventure. With a National Geographic expert on board, the landscapes that you pass through take on a whole new depth and meaning. From the comfort of a private luxury train, cover vast distances with ease, visit remote towns and villages, and observe everyday life against an ever changing backdrop.

Short Getaways

Explore some of North America’s most fascinating corners on our short getaways. Snorkel with playful sea lions amid the islands of the Sea of Cortez. Join a National Geographic photographer for a weekend photography workshop in the photogenic cities of Washington, D.C., or San Francisco. Trace the footsteps of America’s legendary explorers in the Pacific Northwest. Or kayak the backwaters of San Francisco Bay and then head to Napa Valley for an evening with a master sommelier.

Private Journeys

Travel independently--with all the benefits of traveling with National Geographic. National Geographic Private Journeys are guided expeditions geared for independent travelers who wish to explore on their own, rather than with a group. Whether you bring your spouse, a few good friends, or your whole family, you decide where and when to go and enjoy access to the benefits of traveling with National Geographic.

Our expeditions are designed to reflect the broad range of our travelers' interests. Whether you're an amateur photographer looking to improve your skills, a classic train buff, or an avid hiker or kayaker, you'll find a National Geographic expedition suited to your passion.

Your participation in a National Geographic Expedition provides support to National Geographic's mission of increasing global understanding through exploration, geography education, and research.
